Walk Llanfrynach

For other information about staying at Nythfa House see the page here.

I had a nice circular walk from the house via Llanfrynach.

It worked out very well because it started raining in the middle of the day but there is a nice bus stop in Llanfrynach with seats so it was very good for having the packed lunch. Also there are toilets in Llanfrynach so it is all very civilised.

If you want a shorter walk you could do half this walk by catching the 43 bus to Llanfrynach and then walking back to the house.

From the house I went over the Usk Bridge and turned left along the river bank:

and continue along the river bank near the A40:

I crossed the A40 and went up a path. Cross a bridge over a stream then along a lane to Llanfrynach. I didn't take any pictures there as it was raining but Llanfrynach has very good bus stop and toilets.

I took a different path back to the house. I started out along a path next to a stream (Nant Menasgin) then back along some paths toward Contref Adventure Farm (I could not find the bridge over the Afon Cynrig stream so I had to take the long way round.

From there there is a path over this hill with views over Brecon:

and back over the Usk bridge:

About This Site

Here is some information I have gathered together about getting to and walking from HF houses when leaving the car at home. On these pages I have also put some history about former HF houses I have visited.

The information here is based on my visits to HF houses over the years. It may be out of date so don't rely on anything here without checking. If you find any errors why not let others know by putting a post on the HF Holiday Fans ( unofficial) Facebook forum. I will try to quote such posts here so they don't get lost.

This is information I have discovered over the years which would have been useful to know before. Unfortunately the travel information on the HF website, for getting to houses by public transport, is poor. I think it would be better if the information on this page were on the HF website.
